The X stitch is a stitch mainly composed of double crochet stitches. It requires that you have an even number of stitches or chain stitches.

In any type of yarn and hook:

Create a foundation row of chain stitches or any other stitch.

Row 1: Ch 3, *Dc in first stitch, skip 1 ch or st, 1 dc in next st, and 1 dc in the skipped st. * Repeat from * across the row.

Repeat row 1.


Variations:

A lacier X stitch:

Row 1: Ch 3, *Dc in first stitch, skip 2 ch or st, ch 1, 1 dc in next st, 1 dc in that first skipped ch or st.* Repeat from * across the row.
